This candle is inspired by Maine Gov. Janet Mills standing up to an executive order banning transgender athletes from women’s sports. When Trump asked whether she was going to comply and threatened to withhold federal funding from Maine if she didn’t, she replied “I’ll see you in court.”
100% of net proceeds from this candle will go to Maine Trans Net, an non-profit that supports transgender Mainers through a network of peer support groups across the state. Many of their support groups are in rural communities, where social isolation is a leading contributor to the high rates of attempted suicide the trans community faces.
